of the group really like this arrangement. One of the
Nashville doctors, with whom Carol works, once got
them backstage passes to the Grand Old Opry.
One of the coolest things about twins is their
connection, often likened to extra sensory perception.
For instance, one Christmas Edith bought identical
coats for each of them in Dallas. Edna did the same in
Little Rock. All four coats were identical. More than
once they have gotten each other the same Christmas
card.
Edith and Edna are enjoying this season of their lives
together, twins who love and enjoy one another,
doing life together. They are as close as the back alley
gates to their homes. When not together, they check
on each other, and if one doesn’t answer the phone
within three rings, the caller will pass through those
back gates to check on the callee. They are delightful
ladies with whom one, as in the old Doublemint Gum
commercials, can double their pleasure and double
their fun. What a joy to experience this sweet duo,
whose mantra is, “But for the grace of God.”
Edna has two children, David Cochran, Hale
County Sherriff, and Carol Seago, a nurse who
works in sales for a medical company in Little
Rock, AR. Edith has two daughters, Brenda Jones
of Floydada and Tracy Johnson of Lubbock. Edna
has twin great grandchildren among her brood and
recently welcomed her fifth great grandchild. Edith
has one granddaughter and two grandsons. Of
their eight older siblings, one brother Harley and
one sister Julie are still living.
The duo again spends much time together, eating,
shopping, getting hair done, and so forth. They
often wear identical clothing. The two have worked
many elections together, and Edna is a Pink Lady
volunteer for Covenant Hospital in Plainview. They
attend First Baptist Church and have been long
time members of the Pastor’s Class. They enjoy
family together, traveling to Lubbock, Little Rock,
and Memphis, TN. Carol also provides them with
trips around the nation when she has a business
trip. She works, and they play. At least two-thirds
