Congratulations to Senior Link on ten years of honoring our West Texas seniors including
over 40,000 veterans. It is such a privilege to represent you in our nation’s capital.

Ronald Reagan put it so well, “Veterans know better than anyone else the price of
freedom, for they’ve suffered the scars of war. We can offer them no better tribute than to

protect what they have won for us.”

We’ve made important strides in recent years to increase access to healthcare, provide
more economic opportunities, and hold the VA and the Defense Department accountable

for delivering on the promises they’ve made to our veterans and active military, including
my recent “Smitty Check” protocol legislation requiring the Army to adequately monitor
our service members following an injury.

I am also proud to finally break ground on the Lubbock Veterans Cemetery after years of

working through the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and with our West Texas veteran,
state, and local leaders – it is the first new veterans cemetery built in Texas in 12 years.
Every veteran deserves a hero’s burial for their willingness to sacrifice life and limb to

defend our great nation and the freedoms we enjoy.

Thank you again for your contributions to West Texas and may God continue to bless
America and those who defend her.

Your friend and proud West Texan,

                                                  Jodey C. Arrington
