when he enrolled in Lubbock’s
Sunset School of Preaching. He
graduated on his 41st birthday, January 25, 1970.
Since his graduation, he has preached in Flagstaff,
Arizona; the three Maritime Provinces of Canada
– Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New
Brunswick; and Lubbock, Texas. A.C. and his wife
touched many lives during his years of preaching
across North America. They returned to Lubbock
permanently in 1982. Ruth worked at both the Texas
Tech Library and the Texas Tech Museum until she
retired after 32 years of service.
When asked how he would like to be remembered,
he simply said, “As a man who loved God, his
family and his country.” A. C. is a stellar example
of someone who has demonstrated how to do all of

Asa went on the 2017 Texas
South Plains Honor Flight. His
favorite stop was the Korean
War Memorial. He also enjoyed
being with his son, Terry, who
went along as his guardian.
After spending a year and a half in
Germany, Asa was discharged on December We are proud of our
