My mom and dad (Nanny and Pa) aka Polly and Jan Wampler,
would have only one at a time spend the night each Friday
night, with a special day on Saturday. The grands would plan
their activities—bike riding, walking the neighborhood, going
to McDonalds. (This was before indoor playgrounds.) The kids
would do other fun things like play dress up and fly kites.

Connecting with our grandchildren is more important than ever
in this age of social media. It may take extra effort and creativity,
but who better than a child’s grandparents to teach them about the
joys of a simpler way to play.
