HONORING J.T. & MARGARET

How the Talkingtons
Continue Their Legacy
THROUGH THE INSIDE OUT
FOUNDATION
BY ALEXIS ARNOLD
J.T. and Margaret Talkington are household names to many Lubbockites,
usually due to the foundation they established as their way of continually
giving back to their community even after they were no longer able
to personally do so. That is certainly a notable achievement, but what
exactly does it mean for the residents of this city? Our organization has
a very personal connection to this impact, as the Inside Out Foundation
(IOF) was blessed to be a grant recipient for two consecutive years from to transition mastectomy survivors through the

this region. These bags are gauze and gloves, to comfort items like fuzzy socks,
filled with more than 40 items, Kleenex and pillows. These bags are given to our
each specifically designed clients at no cost, and all of this is possible because of
the Talkingtons.
When our clients are recovering from mastectomy
surgery or from being badly burned, these bags
give them support, comfort and, most importantly,
the knowledge that people they may not know are
thinking about them and extending love to them
through these bags. For someone going through
something so traumatic, this means everything to
them, and it would not have been possible without
the vision from J.T. and Margaret Talkington. The
Inside Out Foundation is forever grateful for their
support, and, of course, our clients are, too!
