Angie and the lessons she had taught me about the
importance of sound and rhythm. Even as I played
other instruments, I always returned to the lessons I
learned on the piano with her, finding that the skills

Over the years, I’ve made the All-Region Band for
six consecutive years and, this year, I proudly made
All Area Band. Joining the Lubbock High School
band has been a huge milestone in my music journey,
and I’ve had the honor of participating in the state
marching contest for the past two years. I am also
the section leader for the front ensemble. These
achievements and leadership roles are a testament to
the skills and passion Ms. Angie nurtured in me.
Looking ahead, my plans include attending Texas Tech
University, where I will major in Psychology with a
focus in Criminal Justice. While my primary academic
