After my dad passed in 2009, Mom
began taking painting classes at my
art studio, Studio 2.10. She loves to
tell people that she was “my most
challenging student,” which is
not at all true! At the studio, Mom
discovered her talent with acrylics.
She has displayed her art in
Lubbock’s First Friday Art Trail and
gallery shows at Studio 2.10, but
she doesn’t sell it. She simply loves
creating as an opportunity to spread
joy by giving her paintings and
crafts to family and friends.
Mom is more than an artist. She
