“When I was about 9 years old, Dad bought two copies of The
Richest Man in Babylon and had all of his friends and family read
it. Little did he realize that he was on his way to becoming ‘The
Richest Man in Babylon’ by having ARMIES OF FRIENDS.”

“Over the years, many people have told me they could not have
gone to college without Daddy’s help. Their families were
poor and had no means to pay for a higher education. Through
Daddy’s efforts in finding financial aid back in the 50s and 60s,
many were able to attend South Plains College and become very
successful. Many of these stories were told through tears of
appreciation. Maintenance workers even told me that Daddy
treated them like they were the ‘President of SPC instead of
custodians!’ Wow! He’s my dad - my hero!”
