Wreaths Across America Deserves a Wreath

The Lubbock Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol has been
participating in Wreaths Across America (WAA) since 2008. This will
be the 11th Christmas they have honored the memory of veterans
interred at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Last year, The Lubbock County
Historical Commission contacted Capt. Tammy Preidis, asking if they
could team up with the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) to give special honor to
the 361 World War I Veterans who are buried at the City of Lubbock
Cemetery, to recognize the centennial year of WWI. Capt. Preidis is
the Location Coordinator and Wreaths Across America Director for
Lubbock. This program is very dear to her heart as she and her husband
Jim come from families with a long line of military service, and they also
served themselves during Desert Storm. The Lubbock community has
been getting more involved each year. Last year enough wreaths were
collected to honor 733 veterans. Capt. Preidis says, “I’ve truly appreciated Please HONOR Lubbock's
all who have come out to help grow this program. It’s my desire to have 3000+ Veterans. Donate $15
wreaths for all 2,000 veterans who are laid to rest at the City of Lubbock
Cemetery, but this means collecting $30,000. It’s my hope that more for one wreath to be placed.

businesses and community organizations will come forward to sponsor http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/

wreaths for this awesome program.” TX-CLCL
