We love the outpouring of community involvement each
year as the planning begins and develops to the very last FIGHT FOR
minute. This year we expect at least 100 teams and 800 ALZHEIMER’S
participants. We invite company sponsorships at several
levels. Some companies traditionally sponsor the same FIRST
part of the walk each year. It is so heartwarming to see the
same people come back year after year - family walk teams, SURVIVOR.
company sponsors, company walk teams, and individuals
that just come to show their support.
The different activity areas at the walk are also encouraging
- the flower garden, the kids’ zone, the advocacy area, the
champions’ tent, all of the vendor tables with information
and giveaways. The emcees, the music, the presentations,
and the countdown to the walk itself all contribute to the
thrill of the day. In fact, it gives us chills writing about it!
The colors of the flowers and what they signify are such an
important part of this event; each flower represents:
• a person with the disease, At the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, people carry
flowers representing their connection to Alzheimer’s — a disease
• a caregiver of someone with Alzheimer’s, that currently has no cure. But what if one day there was a flower for
Alzheimer’s first survivor? What if there were millions of them? Help
make that beautiful day happen by joining us for the world’s largest
• someone who has lost someone to the disease, or fundraiser to fight the disease.
Register today at alz.org/walk.
• someone who supports the cause and a vision of a world
without Alzheimer’s. Lubbock Walk to End Alzheimer's
