         My Dad
         by Emily Settle

My dad passed away years ago, but to this day he is still a wonderful inspiration to my life. This year in
October, he would have turned the age of sixty, and I want to celebrate his birthday with love like I do every
         other year.
I have little memory of him, but I do remember his soothing voice from an audio book we own. I know he
has a great heart and is watching from heaven above, having a bright smile on his face.
I have love for him from the deepest, greatest part of my heart. This great affection will never cease, nor will it
         decrease, but expand.
Every day I wish that he was still alive, but I know that I shouldn’t mourn that he has perished, but should Emily Settle
         celebrate that he was here.
He was extremely courageous and was willing to face any dangerous path. He didn’t have a hint of arrogance.
He always put others needs in front of him.
For infinity and beyond, for forever and more, I love you, Daddy.

Santos Romas is a janitor, but he brings light to Christ the King Cathedral School in Lubbock. He
would do anything to make you feel happy. Santos is from Honduras, and he has been through
so much. He was the Chief Commander of the Honduras Military. Every person in the school
appreciates his kindness, loyalty and hard work. He may be a janitor, but he is very special indeed.

Keira with Santos Ramos Mrs. Jackson

                                                   by Luke Roark

Mrs. Jackson was my third-grade teacher at Christ the King School. She was my best teacher.
She helped me act right, and she helped me with Math, Science, History, Spelling, and
Religion. She was a counselor to me and to my mom as well. She was like a warm welcome.
If she reads this, I would like to thank her for helping me. I would love to see her again.

One senior citizen I know is my old Math teacher, Mrs. Broderson. She influenced me to be
who I am today, and she helped me to believe in myself. She has taught me so much about
Math. She told the funniest stories, and she made us smile. She has had a big impact on all of
                                                  us students.
