HONORING SENIORS

Lubbock's Garden and Arts Center was the scene of “Mission
Accomplished” for Senior Link’s stated goal of “linking”
generations as ABC Bank and Market Street partnered with us to
host our annual Senior2Senior banquet. The event acknowledged
the local high school seniors who each honored their mentor
with an essay in this issue. Dr. Sam Ayers inspired the roomful
of teenagers, senior citizens, and everyone in between with his
keynote speech encouraging us all to consider the value of the time
we've been given. His jar full of $1 gold coins was a powerful visual
object lesson, and Senior Link is grateful to ABC Bank for joining us
in investing in the high school seniors with their own jars of $100 in
gold and silver coins.

We are also grateful to Market Street for the delicious fajita buffet
and to Dayspring Designs for the beautiful table décor. The
memorable S2S event depends on generous sponsors like these
like-minded businesses.
