             “I bought a plane ticket to Amarillo where Mom and   trip was at the Korean War Memorial. A young

             years of service left, so I was sent to Oklahoma City
             Air Force Station and assigned to the HQ’s 33rd Air
             Division. I worked on the Bell Telephone spec. lines
             used to help keep up with our planes in the NORAD
             system, and Mollie taught school. I was discharged
             on September 26, 1956.
             “We headed back to Lamesa, and I started farming
             again. Mollie and I had two daughters, Arla and
             Melinda. I had a massive heart attack in 1985 and
             had to retire. I was fortunate to go on the 2018 Texas
             South Plains Honor Flight. I really liked the Korean
             and WWII Memorials. My favorite memory of that
