In 1972, he was named Regional Supervisor
of Prudential’s Southwestern Home Office in
Houston. A promotion to District Manager moved
the family to Duncanville in 1975 and then to
Lubbock in 1977. Jim took early retirement in
1985 after 30 years of service with Prudential. He
was recruited by the newly-formed life insurance
             subsidiary of Germania Insurance Company,
serving as Executive Vice President in Brenham.
“I finished with Prudential on a Friday and
started my new job on Monday morning,” Jim
             remembered.

One of his favorite assignments during this
part of his career was choosing the location of
the company's yearly conference meeting. That
meant traveling to beautiful areas of the United
States and being able to bring Connie along. They
             thoroughly enjoyed their adventures. During
Jim’s professional life, he was also active in Life
Underwriter’s, Lion’s Club, and Sierra Club. He
             retired from Germania in 1998.
Jim and Connie moved back to Lubbock in 2001
and have been members of Holy Spirit Catholic
Church since then. They have enjoyed traveling,
hosting friends, and spending time with family.
They have made numerous lifelong friends and
have stayed in touch with so many people in the
             various cities they’ve called home.
