full picture of Adolf Hitler and how his life experiences may
have impacted who he became as an adult and how he became the authoritarian leader he did by connecting
incidents and trauma he experienced in his formative years to actions he carried out as an adult.

Dr. Hutton points out and acknowledges that history paints a picture of a boy who was doted on by one parent
and belittled by another, who struggled in school, who had a hard time making friends, and who learned at a
young age to blame his own failures on others. Incidents from his personal life foreshadowed things that would
unfold during his control of Germany. But the story also takes into account that there is neither explanation nor
excuse for the horrible things he did while in control.

War does not create heroes, it simply creates situations where those with
the grit and a spark of gallantry remain in the fight, flying towards the
danger to become the defenders of freedom. Andy Winnegar, a teenage
airman in WWII, was an American warrior whose story is celebrated in
Avengers, Wildcats, & Crickets. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross
and 7 Air Medals for heroism, Andy's story is one of valor and patriotism.
