Have you been to the Buddy Holly Hall yet? I had the opportunity to tour it when from
we did our cover photo in the Summer of 2020 before it was finished, and I have
been to some amazing performances since it opened. My husband even took me
on a memorable date to Rave On. Every time I have been there, I marveled at the the
amazing helical staircase and hoped for an opportunity to take our cover photo
there. The time was finally right, and I hope this issue will inspire you to visit the publisher
beautiful state-of-the-art facility.
Senior Link was fortunate that BeyondFaith Hospice wanted to join us in honoring
our honorees. After the cover photo shoot, they treated us to coffee and dessert
in Rave On, the United Restaurant located inside the
BHH. I had heard the coconut cake was to die for,
and we all agreed that the rumors were true. Thank
you, BeyondFaith Hospice for such a special treat.
Usually, issues of Senior Link have an intentional
theme, but in this issue, it wasn’t immediately
apparent. The articles seemed random. Besides
stories about the Buddy Holly Hall and Tech’s beloved
Carol of Lights, you’ll find love stories, stories of
exceptional seniors, including a veteran or two and a
musician who is not a senior, and some extraordinary
“ordinary” people. One article is a surprise to the
honoree written by her 12-year-old granddaughter. (I
love when we can help link generations in this way.)
There are stories about people you know (Don’t
miss the special tribute to the late TJ Patterson) and
people you will want to know. The theme finally
emerged—“INSPIRATION.” Every story in this issue
has a message to encourage and motivate all of us.
Then, don’t forget to check out the resource articles
that are written by many of our advertisers. *
This holiday season, as you gather with your loved
ones, may this issue remind you of the value of
relationships. Choose love and honor and share your
stories with those around you. There is no better
time than the holidays to embrace family and honor traditions. That is what strengthens the family values that
we want to pass on.
I pray for you and your family to have a happy Christmas and a blessed 2023!
*The cost of print has gone up 50% with projections that it will continue to rise. Paper is hard to come by, and the print
industry is struggling. We are trying our hardest to keep this magazine as stable as possible and I assure you, it’s not easy.
But we are so blessed with advertisers who will partner with us to make it happen. Please thank them and let them know
you saw their ad. Please use their businesses if you can. We truly could not do it without them.
