HONORING SMALL BUSINESSES

made changes to schedules to minimize any potential
exposure to a client and/or Comfort Keeper. They sent
letters educating clients about the virus and made
hundreds of phone calls to ensure their well-being. As the
pandemic rages on, they have continued to stay the course
of shielding both employees and clients.
Another of Lisa’s passions is community service. She
began delivering for Lubbock Meals on Wheels in 1994. In
2010, she and her staff came up with the idea of helping
MOW with their Weekend Meal Bag program, and
“Feed Seniors Now” was born. For ten years, Comfort Senior safety and
Keepers has partnered with businesses, churches and
organizations to gather food and funds (throughout the wellbeing is what we do
month of September) for homebound recipients, so they
receive a meal and food for the weekend. That first year, In-Home Senior Care Services
their goal was to gather enough food for one month, but • Personal care • Dementia and
through the generosity of many, they gathered enough for Alzheimer's care
the entire year. Now, there are over 325 people who get • Companionship
Weekend Meal Bags. The program grows every year along and housekeeping • Safety solutions
with the need. • Respite care
Lisa releases stress doing Pilates, riding bikes, playing (806) 687-7800
games, cooking and baking. She says, “When I am 2517 74th Street, Lubbock, TX 79423

Lisa Carson is a small business owner, but she is so
much more than that. She not only cares for her clients,
but she cares for her caregivers, too. She cares for the
people on her Meals on Wheels Route, and she cares for
the community with the “Feed Seniors Now” program.
She is the kind of quiet hero whom the community
can count on to keep providing care, compassion and
        comfort in challenging times.
      “

My family has been BLESSED by Comfort Keepers
services for over three years. We needed help because
my dad not only has Parkinson’s Disease, but he also
lost sight in one of his eyes. Our caregiver makes sure
he gets a shower safely each day, dresses with his
compression stockings which are so difficult to put
on, ensures he gets his Lymphedema compressions
treatment and medications on time. She sees that
he gets to and from exercise to work on his balance
and assists him with grocery shopping. We have
been fortunate to have a consistent caregiver who
notes changes in both behavior and dietary intake.
She changes his sheets, vacuums, and provides him
with a sanitary kitchen to have a meal when she is
not around. Our communication has grown deeper
throughout these past few years, and we are so
                                                       ”
          THANKFUL for COMFORT KEEPERS LUBBOCK!
