y grandfather, Larry Work,
was born in Ralls and has
Mlived on the South Plains his
entire life. He grew up in the towns
of Crosbyton and Ralls, graduating
from Ralls High School. His father was
Robert Work, County Judge in Crosby
County for a number of years. His
stepfather was Raymond Ralls, whose
family started the town of Ralls. He
graduated from Texas Tech and has
lived in Idalou ever since. After a
brief time spent as an Ag teacher, he
worked for Becknell Wholesale for
40 years and managed his farmland.
He is currently involved with the Ag
Museum and Windmill Museum, as
well as being involved with the Texas
Tech Equestrian Center.
When I think about my grandfather,
three specific character traits come to
my mind: his strong work ethic; his
