experiences have been the cornerstone of
the endowment’s effect on young ladies,
many of whom may otherwise never have
the opportunities set before them. Academic
summer camps such as Science: It’s A Girl
Thing, Trinity Audubon TREKS, Personal
Financial Academy, and Shake Hands with
Your Future, coupled with trips, such as one
to Washington, D.C., and opportunities to see
accomplished inspirational speakers, such as
Anita Hill, effectively work together to help our
students become well-rounded individuals and
contributors to Lubbock’s community. J.T. and
Margaret Talkington’s example and influence is
widespread, due to their hard work and generous
hearts, and will continue for generations through
the young women they
are impacting every
day at Talkington
School for Young
Women Leaders.
