MUSIC & ART
In 2026, we are looking forward to focusing on an
opener which features a renowned local favorite, the
John Sprott Blues Band. The featured band will be
Austin-based Shelley King. The featured concert will
be held February 21 at the Cactus Theatre after a day
of learning which will be held at the Louise Hopkins
Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA).
The Buffalo Grass Fest always has a focused educational
component as well as an outreach portion during
which Lubbock Cultural Arts Foundation works with
Lubbock ISD to bring the featured performer to an area
high school and also for a session at Texas Tech School
of Music. Throughout the two days, the Fest touches
several hundred people and impacts young musicians
and students of music who are able to learn about the
industry from professionals, connect with one another
and, of course, experience amazing music.
The event has become a beautiful way for seasoned
Lubbock musicians to give back to Lubbock and nurture
the next generation who will inherit an extraordinary

were Lubbock-based Clement Hall and Albuquerque-
based Dust City Opera.
