I have had the honor of working with
Julie for 15 years. She is a treasured
colleague and one of my dearest
friends.Throughout this journey, Julie
has provided me priceless professional
advice in many ways, such as
fostering meaningful relationships
with students and exploring new
perspectives. I admire and appreciate
Julie’s passion, dedication, and

As Julie Wyatt prepares to retire, it is appropriate to consider
the impact she (and her father) have made on our West Texas
community.
As the school year comes to a close at Talkington, a huge space
is opening which this beloved leader has occupied for so long.
One thing is sure: students and teachers alike are accustomed to a
principal who embraces excellence, loves students, inspires teachers,
and respects parents. This fearless leader will be sorely missed. The
good news is that, just as leadership skills were passed on to Julie Talkington High School
by her parents, she has imparted them to her teachers and students. recipients of the Margaret

the Talkington School for Young Women Leaders is not just a name.
Her legacy, like her dad’s, is sure to reproduce what has been sown
into it—leadership.
Here’s to retirement and new beginnings, Mrs. Wyatt. But rest
assured that, as you move on, your legacy will remain in the
qualities you have instilled into teachers, students, and parents.
We are all better off for the leadership that you have so gracefully
provided. The world is better off for the leadership skills that
you not only inherited, but also generously bestowed on the next
generation, to be passed on to countless others.
It has been an honor to have Mrs. Wyatt as the principal of our school. She has constructively made a safe
and productive school environment for students and set performance goals for our school. Mrs. Wyatt has
fostered an encouraging learning environment. Specifically, that is what has impacted my experience here
at Talkington School for Young Women Leaders.
