This year, we encourage individuals to give their
thanks in actions beyond words - for actions are
even stronger in giving thanks to those who have
given so much to protect this land of the free and the
home of the brave.
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Write a check. Countless organizations assist our
veterans who are facing financial difficulty and
offer job counseling to those leaving the military.
Wounded Warriors is just one such organization,
or simply ask a veteran what they may suggest.
2. Volunteer. Give of your time to a veterans
group. An organization such as those that build
homes for wounded veterans is a tremendous
way to say thank you in actions far stronger than
any words.
3. Hire a veteran or veteran spouse. If you are
in a management position, you’ll quickly
find veterans and their spouses are talented,
professional and, above all – loyal.
4. Support Veteran Entrepreneurship. Nearly 10
percent of the 27 million small businesses in
the U.S. are veteran-owned. Frequent those
businesses by adding them to your company’s
supply chain.
While our nation is ever-changing in these times,
let us take this year to change the way we thank
our veterans by doing it with action in addition to
words.
God bless America and our Veterans!
