with 10 grandchildren. On parenting, Carroll reports
that he and Carolyn agree that every year has gotten
better. They have rejoiced with their sons over every
accomplishment, from learning to walk and talk, to
career promotions and successes.

In 1992, after 32 years in education Mr. Lockett
retired. He hadn’t planned to, but an awesome
opportunity arose. He was thrilled with the privilege honor Carroll
of a new season in his life and a wonderful new career.
The son of Bert and Zola had always been a people Lockett for 25 years
person, and education wasn’t the only arena where
that quality was valued. When he was approached by
Rick Canup about a position with Coldwell Banker, of faithful service!
he and Carolyn knew it was a great opportunity. This
June, he celebrates 25 years with the company.
When asked about his wife of 52 years, Carroll
sits up and leans forward, as if this is the story
he’d been waiting to tell. “The Lord blessed me so
wonderfully when he brought Carolyn into my life.
She is the real deal, precious inside and out. She sees
the good in everybody. Carolyn is an extraordinary
mother. She loves being around family and friends,
and is constantly doing for someone else. She has
an unusually great quality of keeping a confidence.
She has always helped me and been so supportive.”
He remembers her baking brownies to take to PTA
