Fri. & Sat. | Sept. 21 & 22, 2018 The Guadalupe-Parkway Neighborhood Centers was
created in 1962 to meet the needs of the communities in
Maja Plays Schumann north and east Lubbock by providing programs that give
individuals and families opportunities to learn, develop
Fri. & Sat. | Oct. 26 & 27, 2018 self-esteem and realize their full potential. The generous
contribution from the J.T. and Margaret Talkington
Maja Bogdanović, Cello Foundation has made it possible for the Parkway Center
to erect a new academic and enrichment facility adjacent
Mozart + The Firebird! to our current building in east Lubbock. Prior to this,
Margaret contributed funds to build a new playground at
Fri. & Sat. | Jan. 18 & 19, 2019 the Guadalupe site located in north Lubbock. This growth
is only possible because Margaret Talkington and the
Philip Mann, Conductor Foundation recognized the need in our area of service for
Delyana Lazarova, Violin additional space. We are grateful for the trust they have
placed in us and our program delivery. Our building is
not yet complete, but we expect to move in by October
Rachmaninoff & Tchaikovsky 2018. Over the years, the Centers have served thousands of
underserved children, and now, with the new building, we
Fri. & Sat. | Feb. 22 & 23, 2019 expect to serve many, many more.
Kenneth Broberg, Piano A fine example of the impact of the Centers is Jaden Ford,
who began coming to the Centers when she was eight years
Saint-Saëns Thundering old. Today, she is a sophomore at Estacado where she is a
cheerleader as well as being enrolled in dual credit classes.
Organ Symphony Her mother, a single parent, relied heavily on the Centers
to pick her child up from school, help her with homework
Sat. | May 4, 2019 | FUMC and provide a safe place for her to learn and grow. This
Seung-Won Cho, Organ coming year, we expect to hire Jaden to assist as a team
leader. We have invested many years in this young lady
and expect she will do great as an employee.
